Rule 90. Complaint

The complaint is a written statement of the essential facts which are alleged to bring the child within the jurisdiction of the juvenile and domestic relations division of the court. It shall be upon oath before a judge, clerk, or other officer empowered by law to receive complaints. In the event that a complaint is prepared before any person other than a judge or clerk of the court, it shall be transmitted forthwith to the clerk of the court. The complaint shall be entitled "Government of the Virgin Islands in interest of."--Amended May 27, 1965.

Explanatory Notes

Change of name of juvenile and domestic relations division. Act Sept. 24, 1983, No. 4855, ' 1, Sess. L. 1983, p. 138, repealed former Chapter 11 of Title 4 of the Virgin Islands Code, which established the juvenile and domestic relations division, and added a new Chapter 11, relating to the family division.
