
The Clerk of the Court is the custodian of records for all judicial matters brought
before the Superior Court. The Office of the Clerk of the Court is maintained at
Charlotte Amalie, with a Chief Deputy Clerk in both judicial districts to assist
the Clerk. The primary mission of the Clerk’s Office is to safeguard the integrity,
and efficiently maintain the accuracy, of the records of the Superior Court of the
Virgin Islands, while rendering courteous, professional and expedient service to the
public and the legal community. The Office of the Clerk is comprised of the
Criminal,
Civil,
Traffic,
Family,
Conciliation, and
Small Claims Divisions. Additionally, the
Clerk oversees the
Office of the Marshal of the Superior Court,
the Office of the Cashier, Divisions of
Court Reporting
and Jury Trial.

At present, the Clerk’s Office encompasses a staff of one hundred and forty employees
who serve the Superior Court, the legal community and the general public.
They receive and process court documents, attend and assist in all court proceedings
maintain the Court's files, and enter the Court’s orders, judgments and decrees.
Additionally, the Clerk’s Office collects and disburses money for
court fees, fines, court costs,
judgments and restitutions at the Court's direction.
The Office of the Clerk of the Court endeavors to provide effective service to anyone
conducting business with the Court by expediting the Court’s business procedures
efficiently and professionally.
